It all begins in Amboseli. My Photo Safari Tour first stop offers a personalized opportunity to capture the essence of the African savannah in all its glory. Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the park is a photographer's paradise, boasting unrivaled views and an abundance of wildlife. There are only 6 spots and I have an extra guide, Andreas, so the ratio of photographers to professional guides is 3:1

We’re staying at the amazing Ol Tukai Lodge

You can see Kilimanjaro from your window! And amazing food and staff as well. And yes, elephants while you eat outdoors at the restaurant!

Amboseli will offer us great photo opportunities like flamingos too!

Then it’s off to Samburu, Kenya’s undiscovered treasure

Samburu is maybe lesser known, but the hill and valleys make for an amazing backdrop for abundant wildlife like elephants and giraffe, but also including the exclusive “Samburu five” Beisa oryx, Reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra and gerenuk, not found in southern reserves.

And birds!

If you like photographing birds, you’ll love Samburu. Lots of cover from the hot sun, trees and shrubs, and tons of birds in action.

And the food will be amazing! All made on site, plenty of courses, and any food requirements like gluten-free easily met.

Larsens Camp will be our home while in Samburu.  Amazing luxury tents right on the river, amazing staff, and coffee with your wake up call too!  Wifi is provided, as at all camps at which we’ll be staying.

Then it’s off to Maasai Mara and the Mara Bush Camp

The Mara Bush Camp is centrally located in the Maasai Mara so we can get on location early and stay late, when the best action happens. Luxury tent accommodations in the middle of the Kenya wilderness. Amazing staff will tend to all our needs. Wake up call with coffee and biscuits! And mid-morning coffee under an acacia tree is mandatory!

Since we’ll have seen lots of elephants, giraffes and zebras in Amboseli and Samburu, the Maasai Mara will give us the opportunity for big cats. There’s no better place.

And I’m including a balloon ride to get the best views and unique photos of the Maasai Mara!

All the wildlife photos on this page were taken by me on my last photo safari to Kenya! And there are plenty more! Here’s a few more pics from my last trip.

Lions, leopards and cheetahs will be here and will be hunting. We’re going during migration, but rather than staying two days waiting for a crossing of zebras or wildebeests, while everyone else is waiting at the river, we’ll be finding big cats hunting on the plains, giving us better photo opportunities than waiting at the river bank.

Our expert guides will help us locate lion prides, solitary leopards or hunting cheetahs and put us in position for the best photos.

It will be an amazing adventure. Hope you can join me.
